The FNF versions before v0.3 have better autosave features. When your game crashes before the v0.3 update, all you do is go to the "Song" tab on click on autosave.
I got an idea for you. If you go to Metadata under the Window tab, there should be a Save Chart and Save Metadata button. Once you click on both of those buttons, your whole song should be back to where you last saved.
I Actually Like This Game It's Actually Pretty Fun And Cool At The Same Time! I Can Also Download It On My Chromebook Because It Also Have Linux Support. Everyone Should Try This!
